With a blink of an eye, at the age of seven, everything changed for me. My Korean birth name Sooyoung vanished to my American name Andrea. I went from a bustling city of Seoul to a rural farming community in the Midwest where I needed to navigate my new culture, language, and my Asian race in a predominantly white American culture.

As a coach, I use my natural curiosity and commitment to others to create a genuine bond of mutual respect and honesty. This enables me to coach clients in a way that will help feel safe as they explore and work through difficult topics, feelings, or uncomfortable thoughts.

As a professional, I have a decade of experience working as a school social worker and educator both in general education and special education in diverse populations of all ages including at-risk students and families.

I am trained in Center for Mind-Body Medicine which teaches how to practice and nurture the connection between physical, spiritual, and emotional health. In addition, I am trained in Brainspotting which uses focused mindfulness as a powerful yet gentle emotional healing tool. I incorporate these practices in my coaching.

Combining my personal experience with my professional training has allowed me to self-reflect and discover that I can rewrite my story. These experiences and trainings has also opened me to a greater understanding to heal, love, and forgive which has deepened my passion to help others.
